Job summary

PruittHealth in Macon, GA is seeking a part-time Housekeeper to provide cleaning services that create a safe, sanitary, comfortable environment for residents and staff. Duties include floor care, trash removal, bathroom cleaning, and dusting in patient rooms in accordance with facility policies.

On-the-job training is provided; a high school diploma or equivalent is preferred. Prior healthcare housekeeping experience is advantageous, with equal opportunities for qualified applicants.

Responsibilities

• Sweeps, damp mops, and wet mops tile floors, following center procedures.
• Vacuums carpeted rooms as applicable.
• Empties trash, cleans interior and exterior, replaces with a clean liner.
• Cleans bathroom sinks, fixtures and toilets following center procedures.
• Cleans glass surfaces such as mirrors, pictures and windows.
• Dusts/damps surfaces in patient/resident rooms following center procedures.
• Moves furniture to clean behind/underneath according to center procedures.
• Turns bed mattresses after cleaning.

Job Purpose

Provides cleaning services to create a safe, sanitary, comfortable and homelike environment for residents, staff and the public. Housekeeping services are delivered in accordance with facility policies and procedures and in compliance with state and federal laws and regulations to maintain an environment that enhances the quality of life for residents.

Key Responsibilities

• Sweeps, damp mops, and wet mops tile floors. May occasionally be required to spray, buff, strip or wax floors, following center procedures, including the use of wet floor signs.
• Vacuums carpeted rooms as applicable.
• Empties trash cans, cleans exterior and interior, and replaces with a clean liner.
• Cleans bathroom sinks, fixtures and toilets, following center procedures.
• Cleans glass surfaces such as mirrors, pictures and windows.
• Cleans behind and underneath furnishings.
• Follows infection control standards while performing cleaning.
• Prevents or removes wax/dirt buildup in corners, around baseboards and in doorways.
• Changes soiled privacy curtains and draperies for outside windows as needed.
• Removes and re‑hangs curtains and draperies for outside windows, using a ladder.
• Dusts/damps surfaces in patient/resident rooms (furniture, bed frames, windowsills, etc.) following center procedure, including the use of wet floor signs.
• Moves furniture to clean behind/underneath, according to center procedures.
• Turns bed mattresses after cleaning.

Minimum Experience Required

None; on‑the‑job training is provided.

Additional Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Previous Experience With Healthcare Housekeeping Or Environmental Services Preferred

Preferred: Previous experience in healthcare housekeeping or environmental services.
