Job summary

PruittHealth is seeking a dedicated housekeeping professional to provide cleaning services in a healthcare environment, ensuring a safe, sanitary, and homelike setting for residents and staff. No minimum experience is required as on‑the‑job training is provided; preferred candidates have a high school diploma and prior healthcare housekeeping experience.

Responsibilities

• Sweep, mop, vacuum, and clean floors and surfaces as per center procedures.
• Maintain infection control standards while performing cleaning.
• Clean bathrooms, mirrors, windows, and furniture in resident rooms.
• Dust and damp clean surfaces and move furniture to access areas.
• Change curtains, rehang drapes, and handle window coverings as needed.

Job description

Job Purpose

Providing cleaning services to maintain a safe, sanitary, comfortable, and homelike environment for residents, staff, and the public. Housekeeping services are performed in accordance with facility policies, procedures, and applicable state and federal laws and regulations to enhance the quality of life for residents.

Key Responsibilities

• Sweeps, damp mops, and wet mops tile floors. May occasionally be required to spray, buff, strip, or wax floors, following center procedures, including the use of wet floor signs.
• Vacuum carpeted rooms as applicable.
• Empty trash cans, clean exterior and interior, and replace with clean can liners.
• Cleans bathroom sinks, fixtures, and toilets, following center procedures.
• Cleans glass surfaces such as mirrors, pictures, and windows.
• Cleans behind and underneath furnishings.
• Follows infection control standards while performing cleaning.
• Prevents or removes wax/dirt buildup in corners, around baseboards, and in doorways.
• Changes soiled privacy curtains and draperies for outside windows as needed.
• Removes and rehangs curtains and draperies for outside windows using a ladder.
• Dusts and damp cleans surfaces in patient/resident rooms (furniture, bed frames, windowsills, etc.) following center procedures, including the use of wet floor signs.
• Moves furniture to clean behind/underneath, according to center procedures.
• Turns bed mattresses after cleaning.

Minimum Experience Required

None; on‑the‑job training is provided.

Preferred Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience with healthcare housekeeping or environmental services.
