Job description

Schedule: Full Time, 40 hours, evenings. 10:00 pm - 6:30 am, Monday - Friday, with weekend & holiday rotation.

Principal Duties/Physical Demands

1. Performs the 8-step cleaning procedures, including daily cleaning, discharge cleaning, bed making, wall spots, toilet cleaning, high and low dusting, and O.R. terminal cleaning.
2. Completes work from previous shift if needed, reports all incomplete assignments and maintenance issues.
3. Cleans up all organic body waste, such as blood and body fluids, feces, sputum, etc., as instructed by the supervisor or team leader.
4. Hangs cubical curtains, shower curtains, and window curtains.
5. Performs discharge cleaning, disinfects and sanitizes I.V. poles, pumps, and other patient equipment.
6. Performs all Environmental Services-related tasks following department guidelines.
7. Performs basic and heavier cleaning functions in assigned areas following established schedules and methods.
8. Cleans patient equipment as requested, including beds and furnishings.
9. Assists in manpower support for office and/or related moves, conference room set-ups, and other occasions.
10. Ability to clean emergency spills when observed or upon request.
