Job summary

Hermitage Three Chopt is seeking a Housekeeper to maintain cleanliness in assigned areas per schedule and policies. You will keep equipment clean and functional and collaborate with the team in a healthcare-focused environment.

Responsibilities include cleaning, laundry, waste handling, and restocking supplies. Prior experience and ability to follow safety guidelines are expected, with some weekends may be scheduled and extended hours possible.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• 1 year or more of related experience required.
• Fundamental knowledge of general housekeeping duties.
• Ability to follow safety procedures with cleaning chemicals.
• Ability to understand verbal and written instructions in English.

• Operate and maintain assigned cleaning equipment.
• Handle trash, soiled linen, and clean linen as required.
• Prepare work cart and obtain daily supplies from stock clerk.
• Follow SDS instructions and wear PPE as needed.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Full time. 40 hours a week. 7:00am-3:30pm M-F with rotating weekends.

Job Description

The Housekeeper is responsible to clean in assigned areas according to schedule and departmental policies and procedures.The housekeeper will also keep the equipment assigned to them in clean and proper operating condition.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, CERTIFICATION AND LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS

1. High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
2. 1 year or more of related experience required.

Job Duties

1. Housekeepers may be assigned to work in Independent Living apartments, villas or cottages, Healthcare households and neighborhoods, Assisted Living households and neighborhoods, Memory Support households and neighborhoods, or other areas as determined by their supervisor.
2. May be required to handle trash, soiled linen, and clean linen.
3. Prepare work cart and obtain necessary daily supplies from stock clerk and to account for supply usage.
4. Follow instructions on use of cleaning chemicals, including dilution and application. Know where Safety Data Sheets (SDS) are located and to refer to the SDS as necessary or when instructed for safety precautions or personal protective equipment (PPE) needed.
5. Attend all departmental training and in-service sessions.
6. Responsible to maintain assigned equipment and reports repair needs to the supervisor.
7. Report any unsafe work conditions to the supervisor.
8. All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

1. Fundamental knowledge of general housekeeping duties.
2. Knowledge and understanding of housekeeping approaches and tools.
3. Knowledge of laundry and procedures.
4. Ability to use and maintain cleaning and laundry supplies and tools.
5. Ability to understand verbal and written instructions in English.
6. Ability to see and smell odors.
7. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple tasks.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS

1. Ability to lift 30lbs. unaided and push 50 lbs.
2. Extensive walking, bending, stooping, long periods of standing.
3. Outside and inside work making daily rounds throughout the community plus respond to problems and emergencies.
4. Universal staffing, holiday, inclement weather, and a flexible work schedule are required. Some weekends and nights may be scheduled.
5. Exposure to the sights, sounds and odors of a typical healthcare environment including persons with dementia.
