Summary/Objective:

Provides daily housekeeping services to patients/residents to ensure a safe, clean, and sanitary environment in accordance with laws, regulations, and facility guidelines.

Essential Functions:

• Provides daily housekeeping duties as assigned per Standard Operating Procedures.
• Follows daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning schedules.
• Cleans floors, including dust mopping, wet mopping, sweeping, and vacuuming.
• Cleans furnishings, both moveable and stationary, throughout the facility.
• Cleans fixtures including restrooms, light fixtures, water fountains, etc.
• Dusts and disinfects horizontal surfaces throughout the facility.
• Removes trash and cleans/disinfects waste containers.
• Cleans and disinfects restrooms in resident rooms and public spaces.
• Cleans public spaces including corridors, stairwells, elevators, waiting rooms, lobby, etc.
• Cleans equipment and work areas as assigned by the Manager.
• Maintains knowledge of federal, state, and facility rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
• Attends in-service educational programs.
• Follows safety codes during all duties.
• Understands and follows facility’s fire and disaster plans during drills and emergencies.
• Performs other duties as assigned by Housekeeping/EVS or designee.

Work Environment

This position requires lifting up to 40 pounds. The work involves moving throughout the facility, including resident rooms, with frequent bending, lifting, sitting, standing, and moving. It involves dealing with interruptions, upset residents and family members, and exposure to odors, falls, burns, infectious diseases, waste, blood, and body fluids. Work hours may include weekends, holidays, and other shifts based on resident needs.

Physical Demands

Continuous standing and walking, reaching, stooping, bending, lifting, carrying, and working with cleaning supplies and chemicals. Must be free from infection or diseases and able to lift up to 40 pounds.

Position Details

This is an hourly position with expected hours on 2nd shift (2pm-10:30pm), Sunday-Thursday, with no holidays.

Required Education and Experience

1. Ability to read, write, and speak English.
2. High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Minimum one year of housekeeping experience in healthcare preferred. Knowledge of cleaning and infection prevention.
