Job summary

Dayton Convention Center is seeking a dedicated Housekeeper to maintain cleanliness and provide excellent guest service. Responsibilities include cleaning tasks, restrooms, and assisting with event setup and teardown. Must be able to interact with guests in a friendly, courteous manner.

Applicants should have a high school diploma or equivalent and prior cleaning experience. Flexible availability including weekends and holidays is required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with event setup, tear-down and clean-up.
• Clean restrooms and replenish supplies.
• Interact with guests in a friendly, courteous manner and provide good customer service.

These include, but not limited to, sweeping, mopping, dusting, trash removal, vacuuming, washing and waxing.* Empty trash and wastebaskets. Transport trash and waste to proper disposal areas.* Make minor repairs such as painting, patching and replacing light fixtures and filters, when applicable.* Assist with event set-up, tear-down and clean-up.* Clean restrooms and replenish supplies.* Must have the ability to interact with guests in a friendly, courteous, and polite manner. This will include initiating contact with guests within 10 feet – i.e., smiling, saying “Good Day” or helping when needed.* Must feel comfortable when around large groups or speaking to a guest, as needed* Understands the importance of providing customer service and in understanding of “The Magic is in the Details”**QUALIFICATIONS:*** To be competitive applicants should have high school diploma or equivalent and significant related experience.* Prior experience in cleaning and janitorial duties.* Able to work flexible schedules, including weekends, nights and holidays.**Skills, Abilities and Physical Demands**The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
