Job summary

Legends Global is seeking a dedicated janitorial associate to maintain cleanliness at the Dayton Convention Center in Dayton, Ohio. Under supervision, you will perform routine housekeeping and assist with event setup and cleanup, ensuring a welcoming environment for guests.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine housekeeping tasks such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, trash removal, vacuuming, washing and waxing.
• Empty trash and waste; transport to disposal areas.
• Make minor repairs (painting, patching, replacing light fixtures) as applicable.
• Assist with event setup, tear-down and cleanup.
• Clean restrooms and replenish supplies.
• Interact with guests in a friendly, courteous manner and provide good customer service.
• Understand the importance of providing excellent details in service.

THE ROLE

Under general supervision, performs routine housekeeping work while cleaning and caring for the facility building.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Perform cleaning and janitorial tasks as required or assigned. These include, but not limited to, sweeping, mopping, dusting, trash removal, vacuuming, washing and waxing.
• Empty trash and wastebaskets. Transport trash and waste to proper disposal areas.
• Make minor repairs such as painting, patching and replacing light fixtures and filters, when applicable.
• Assist with event set-up, tear-down and clean-up.
• Clean restrooms and replenish supplies.
• Must have the ability to interact with guests in a friendly, courteous, and polite manner. This will include initiating contact with guests within 10 feet – i.e., smiling, saying "Good Day" or helping when needed.
• Must feel comfortable when around large groups or speaking to a guest, as needed
• Understands the importance of providing customer service and in understanding of "The Magic is in the Details"

QUALIFICATIONS

• To be competitive applicants should have high school diploma or equivalent and significant related experience.
• Prior experience in cleaning and janitorial duties.
• Able to work flexible schedules, including weekends, nights and holidays.

• Perform routine and repetitive housekeeping tasks without immediate supervision.
• Understand and follow simple instructions.
• Work with minimal supervision.
• Tolerant to work under adverse outdoor conditions including extreme heat or cold and exposure to heavy dust, dirt and cleaning agent odors.
• Use machine, supplies and equipment used to clean the facility.
• Meet the physical demands of the job to mop, sweep, buff, dust and climb.
• Perform heavy lifting at times.
