Job summary

Legends Global in Dayton, OH is seeking a dedicated janitor to maintain cleanliness of the Dayton Convention Center. Under supervision, you will perform routine housekeeping tasks such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, trash removal, vacuuming, and restroom upkeep to ensure a welcoming environment for guests.

The role requires flexibility including weekends, nights, and holidays, with opportunities to contribute to event setup and cleanup.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Prior experience in cleaning and janitorial duties preferred.
• Able to work flexible schedules, including weekends, nights and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Perform cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, trash removal, vacuuming, washing and waxing.
• Empty trash and transport waste to disposal areas.
• Make minor repairs such as painting, patching, and replacing light fixtures and filters.
• Assist with event set-up, tear-down and clean-up.
• Clean restrooms and replenish supplies.
• Interact with guests in a friendly, courteous manner and support the belief that 'The Magic is in the Details'.

THE ROLE

Under general supervision, performs routine housekeeping work while cleaning and caring for the facility building.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform cleaning and janitorial tasks as required or assigned. These include, but not limited to, sweeping, mopping, dusting, trash removal, vacuuming, washing and waxing.

• Empty trash and wastebaskets. Transport trash and waste to proper disposal areas.
• Make minor repairs such as painting, patching and replacing light fixtures and filters, when applicable.
• Assist with event set-up, tear-down and clean-up.
• Clean restrooms and replenish supplies.
• Must have the ability to interact with guests in a friendly, courteous, and polite manner. This will include initiating contact with guests within 10 feet – i.e., smiling, saying “Good Day” or helping when needed.

• Must feel comfortable when around large groups or speaking to a guest, as needed
• Understands the importance of providing customer service and in understanding of “The Magic is in the Details”

QUALIFICATIONS

• To be competitive applicants should have high school diploma or equivalent and significant related experience.
• Prior experience in cleaning and janitorial duties.
• Able to work flexible schedules, including weekends, nights and holidays.
