Job summary

PruittHealth North Carolina State Veterans Home- Black Mountain is seeking a Housekeeper to provide safe, sanitary, and homelike cleaning for residents, staff, and visitors. The role follows facility policies, state and federal laws to maintain high quality of life for residents.

Responsibilities include floor care, vacuuming, trash removal, bathroom cleaning, dusting, window cleaning, infection control, curtain changes, moving furniture as needed.

Qualifications

• On-the-job training provided.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Healthcare housekeeping experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• SWEeps, damp mops and wet mops tile floors, may spray buff/strip/wax floors following center procedures.
• Vacuums carpeted rooms as applicable.
• Empties trash cans, cleans exterior and interior with clean liner replacement.
• Cleans bathroom sinks, fixtures and toilets following center procedures.
• Cleans glass surfaces such as mirrors, pictures and windows.
• Cleans behind and underneath furnishings.
• Follows infection control standards while cleaning.
• Prevents wax/dirt buildup in corners, baseboards, and doorways.
• Changes soiled privacy curtains and draperies for outside windows as needed.
• Removes and re-hangs curtains and draperies for outside windows using a ladder.
• Dusts or damp cleans surfaces in patient/resident rooms following center procedures.
• Moves furniture to clean behind/underneath as required.
