Job summary

PruittHealth is seeking a Housekeeper HCC to provide cleaning services that create a safe, sanitary, and homelike environment for residents, staff, and visitors at our Durham, NC location.

The role involves routine floor care, room cleaning, window and curtain maintenance, and strict adherence to infection control standards. On-the-job training is provided; a high school diploma or equivalent is preferred, and prior healthcare housekeeping experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• On-the-job training provided.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous experience with healthcare housekeeping or environmental services preferred.

Responsibilities

• Sweeps, damp mops, and wet mops tile floors. May spray buff, strip, or wax floors per center procedures.
• Vacuum carpets in rooms as applicable.
• Empty trash, clean interior and exterior areas, replace liners.
• Clean bathroom sinks, fixtures, and toilets per center procedures.
• Clean glass surfaces such as mirrors, pictures, and windows.
• Dust and damp clean surfaces behind furnishings.
• Follow infection control standards while cleaning.
• Prevent wax/dirt buildup in corners, baseboards, and doorways.
• Change soiled privacy curtains/draperies for outside windows as needed.
• Remove and re-hang curtains and draperies for outside windows using a ladder.
• Dust/damp clean surfaces in patient/resident rooms, including furniture and windowsills.
• Move furniture to access hard-to-reach areas.
