Job summary

Laurel Oaks Behavioral Health Center is a 118-bed Acute Psychiatric Hospital and Residential Treatment Center for children and adolescents. We seek an EVS Tech/Housekeeper to maintain a clean, safe environment for patients, staff and visitors across the 55,000 square foot campus.

The role covers a variety of cleaning tasks, uses standard housekeeping equipment, follows written and oral instructions, and contributes to comfort, safety and overall quality of care in a healthcare setting.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or G.E.D. preferred.
• Ability to follow written and oral instructions and complete written forms.
• Sufficient strength to perform assigned task; generally in good health.
• A minimum of one year housekeeping experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
• Must be able to interact and communicate in English with staff, physicians, patients, and families.
• Must be able to read signs, labels, work schedules and instructions.

Responsibilities

• The EVS Tech/Housekeeper performs a variety of cleaning maintenance for the Hospital.
• The primary responsibility is to provide high-quality housekeeping services to the facility, staff, and patients at all times and ensure customer comfort and safety.

Responsibilities

Laurel Oaks Behavioral Health Center is a 118 bed Acute Psychiatric Hospital and Residential Treatment Center for children and adolescents ages four through eighteen. The 55,000 square foot facility is situated on approximately 10 acres in the southeast corner of Alabama, less than 20 miles from both Florida and Georgia. In addition to the living units, the facility houses the New Day Academy; a state-supported year-round K-12th grade school with vocational opportunities. The hospital employs approximately 195 staff members.

The EVS Tech/Housekeeper performs a variety of cleaning maintenance for the Hospital. The primary responsibility of the Housekeeper is to provide the highest quality of housekeeping services to the facility, staff, and patients at all times and to ensure the customers’ comfort and safety.

• A minimum of one-year experience in housekeeping experience in a healthcare setting preferred
• Must be able to interact and communicate in English, both orally and written, with a l levels of staff, physicians, patients, and families in an effective manner, exhibiting tact, enthusiasm, and patience
• Must be able to read signs labels, work schedules and instructions.
