Job summary

Laurel Oaks Behavioral Health Center is seeking an EVS Tech/Housekeeper to maintain cleanliness and support a safe, comfortable environment for patients, families, and staff.

The role requires High School diploma or GED, ability to follow instructions, and one year of healthcare housekeeping experience preferred. Excellent English communication and physical ability are essential for daily tasks in a hospital setting.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or G.E.D. preferred.
• Ability to follow written and oral instructions and complete written forms.
• Sufficient strength to perform assigned task, and general health excellent condition.
• A minimum of one-year experience in housekeeping experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
• Must be able to interact and communicate in English, both orally and written, with a levels of staff, physicians, patients, and families in an effective manner, exhibiting tact, enthusiasm, and patience.
• Must be able to read signs labels, work schedules and instructions.

Responsibilities

• The EVS Tech/Housekeeper performs a variety of cleaning maintenance for the Hospital and provides the highest quality housekeeping services to the facility, staff, and patients.
• Ensure the customers’ comfort and safety through meticulous cleaning and hygiene practices.
• Maintain infection control standards and adhere to safety protocols across all hospital areas.

Responsibilities

Laurel Oaks Behavioral Health Center is a 118 bed Acute Psychiatric Hospital and Residential Treatment Center for children and adolescents ages four through eighteen. The 55,000 square foot facility is situated on approximately 10 acres in the southeast corner of Alabama, less than 20 miles from both Florida and Georgia. In addition to the living units, the facility houses the New Day Academy; a state-supported year-round K-12th grade school with vocational opportunities. The hospital employs approximately 195 staff members.

The EVS Tech/Housekeeper performs a variety of cleaning maintenance for the Hospital. The primary responsibility of the Housekeeper is to provide the highest quality of housekeeping services to the facility, staff, and patients at all times and to ensure the customers’ comfort and safety.
