Hill Crest Behavioral Health Services in Birmingham, AL is seeking an Environmental Services/House Keeper – Floor Tech to maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming inpatient facility. The role requires reliable, full-time staff and availability for orientation.

As a member of the Environmental Services team, you will operate floor machines and cleaning equipment, perform laundry duties, and support facility maintenance while adhering to safety guidelines and infection control standards.

Qualifications

• Valid HS Diploma/GED required.
• Experience in Environmental Services/House Keeper in a medical setting preferred.
• Must be able to operate cleaning and laundry equipment safely.
• Ability to read and implement written and oral instructions.
• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and stand for long periods.

Responsibilities

• Perform cleaning and laundry tasks per established routines.
• Operate floor machines, scrubbers, vacuums and other equipment.
• Maintain facility appearance with safe cleaning practices.
• Assist with routine maintenance and facility upkeep.
• Work under supervision of Environmental Service Manager and Plant Operations Director.

Responsibilities

Environmental Services / House Keeper - Floor Tech

MUST HAVE availability to attend an 8- business day Orientation from 8a-4p without interruptions.

Prior EVS experince in a medical setting/environment is required on resume for consideration

Responsible for performing a variety of cleaning and laundry tasks in accordance with established work routines and under the directions of the Environmental Service Manager. Performs a variety of semi-skilled tasks in the routine upkeep, maintenance and repair to the physical plant, building, grounds and equipment. These tasks are performed under the general direction of the Plant Operations Director. Responsible for working to achieve excellence in total facility appearance. Responsible for working within safety structures while performing all tasks.

Specialized Skills and Knowledge

• 1. The ability to read and implement written instructions and the ability to understand and implement oral instructions.
• 5. Ability to operate the floor machine, auto scrubber, vacuum, extraction equipment, washer, and dryer, lawn mowers, other gardening equipment and any other equipment necessary to perform the assigned task.
• 2. Knowledge in routine maintenance and complete floor care at a medical facility, including but not limited to carpeting, painting, masonry, electrical, plumbing, heating, ventilation, air-conditioning, refrigeration, gen eral mechanics, and gardening.
• 6. Basic Computer skills
• 3. Ability to stand, bend, walk, climb a 6-foot ladder, lift up to 75 pounds and to withstand the physical strains from the use of all required equipment.
• 4. Ability to measure the proper solutions as related to the specific task.

Qualifications

• Valid HS Diploma/GED Required.
• Previous Environmental Services / House Keeper experience in a medical environment required.
• Maintains facility in a sanitary and infection-free condition.
• Responsible for daily disposal of trash, waste, and other disposable materials.
• Must handle various cleaning solvents and chemicals in accordance with established safety regulations.
• Uses safety precautions in all housekeeping services.
• Assists with housekeeping duties as necessary or assigned.
• Performs all other duties as required or assigned.

Work Environment and Physical Demands

Sits, stands, bends, kneels, lifts and moves intermittently during work hours.

Must be able to lift, push, pull and/or move up to 50 pounds.
