Position Details

Location: Kennestone Regional Hospital

This role provides essential support for regular, terminal, and isolation cleaning in hospital settings. Responsibilities include maintaining compliance standards during cleaning of specialty areas such as Operating Room Suites, CATH Labs, GI Labs, VARU, Pharmacy Compounding Lab, Vascular, and Labor and Delivery Suites. General duties involve proper waste removal (solid, chemotherapeutic, biohazard, pharmaceutical, hot waste), use of UV Light devices, and container management (Sharps, Pharmacy Waste, Bio-Hazard, Chemo). Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills are required to interact effectively with staff, patients, and visitors. Training and authorization will be provided for specific duties.

Core Responsibilities and Essential Functions

• Perform restroom and patient room cleaning following specific protocols for different areas.
• Follow infection prevention procedures, using appropriate chemicals and PPE.
• Maintain cleanliness of walls, doors, glass, furniture, floors, and other surfaces.
• Properly remove and dispose of waste and linens according to guidelines.
• Use UV Light equipment safely and effectively.
• Ensure proper container liners are used and secured.

Additional Duties

• Provide excellent customer service to staff, patients, and visitors.
• Participate in team projects and performance improvement initiatives.
• Document daily tasks and adapt to staffing needs.
• Utilize Epic system for bed and patient flow management.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Some experience preferred.
• Ability to read, write, and understand instructions in English.
