Job Description
The EVS Tech II reflects the mission, vision, and values of NM, adheres to the organization’s Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines, and all other regulatory and accreditation standards.

Responsibilities:

  1. Cleans and maintains patient rooms, offices, public areas, treatment rooms, and other assigned areas daily, including collecting and removing trash, changing bed linens, and sanitizing all surfaces.
  2. Follows policies and procedures on patient isolation and contact precautions as necessary.
  3. Stocks paper items and other supplies in assigned areas as necessary or designated.
  4. Maintains cart and equipment in clean, working condition and stores in appropriate storage area.
  5. Promotes safety in the workplace by using wet floor signs, PPE, and not leaving housekeeping carts or supplies unattended.
  6. Uses chemicals and equipment effectively and safely, ensuring proper chemical dilution and labeling.
  7. Notifies supervisor of equipment needing repairs and reports safety hazards.
  8. Communicates any issues to supervisor, including schedule conflicts and deficiencies, and is proactive in addressing them.
  9. Establishes and maintains professional relationships with hospital personnel while ensuring patient confidentiality.
  10. Articulates scripting models to customers effectively.
  11. Uses resources efficiently and manages work schedules to complete tasks timely.
  12. Participates in continuous improvement initiatives and cost reduction efforts.
  13. Presents a friendly, professional demeanor and appearance.
  14. Provides accurate information and timely updates to patients and customers, addressing questions or concerns promptly.
  15. Uses service recovery skills to resolve problems or service breakdowns.
  16. Demonstrates teamwork by assisting co-workers and respecting diverse opinions.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
  • Effective communication with patients, visitors, and staff.
  • Proficiency with department tracking and communication tools.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Physical ability to lift/carry and push/pull up to 50 pounds.

Preferred:

  • One to three years of environmental services experience in healthcare or hospitality.
