Job description

The EVS Tech II reflects the mission, vision, and values of NM, adheres to the organization’s Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines, and all other regulatory and accreditation standards.

This is a casual position, meaning that hours per week are not guaranteed.

Must be able to pick up shifts according to the needs of the business.

Responsibilities :
  • Cleans and maintains patient rooms, offices, public areas, treatment rooms, and other assigned areas daily, including collecting and removing trash, changing bed linens, and sanitizing all surfaces.
  • Follows policies and procedures on patient isolation and contact precautions as necessary.
  • Stocks paper items and other supplies in assigned areas as needed.
  • Maintains cart and equipment in clean, working condition and stores in appropriate areas.
  • Promotes safety in the workplace by using wet floor signs, PPE, and ensuring carts and supplies are attended to.
  • Uses chemicals and equipment safely and effectively, using proper labeling and correct chemical dilutions.
  • Reports equipment needing repairs and safety hazards to supervisors or management.
  • Communicates issues such as schedule conflicts and observes deficiencies, reporting them promptly.
  • Establishes and maintains professional relationships with hospital personnel, ensuring confidentiality of patient information.
  • Articulates scripted communication models effectively to patients and customers.
  • Uses resources efficiently and manages work schedules to complete tasks timely.
  • Participates in continuous improvement initiatives, cost reduction, and service enhancement efforts.
  • Presents a friendly, professional demeanor and appearance.
  • Provides accurate information, timely updates, and directions to patients and customers, addressing questions promptly or directing to appropriate personnel.
  • Uses service recovery skills to resolve problems and service breakdowns.
  • Demonstrates teamwork by assisting co-workers across departments, communicating effectively, and respecting diverse opinions.
Qualifications

Required :

  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
  • Effective communication skills with patients, visitors, and staff.
  • Ability to use department tracking and communication tools.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Physical ability to lift/carry and push/pull up to 50 pounds.

Preferred :

  • One to three years of environmental services experience in healthcare or hospitality.
