SUMMARY: Provides a clean living environment for all residents.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Clean common areas, resident rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, corridors, and other work areas to meet health standards.
- Maintain the cleanliness of the community, including cleaning upholstered furniture, rugs, carpets, fixtures, draperies, furniture, equipment, and other items using vacuum cleaners, shampooers, extractors, and dusters. Replacing drapes and soiled linens.
- Empty wastebaskets and transport waste to disposal areas.
- Wash walls, ceilings, woodwork, windows, door panels, and sills.
- Sweep, scrub, wax, and polish floors using brooms, mops, powered scrubbers, and waxing machines.
- Keep utility and storage rooms well-stocked, clean, and organized.
- Distribute and replenish supplies such as linens, bathroom items, and laundered articles.
- Disinfect and sterilize equipment and supplies using germicides or steam sterilizers.
- Clean wash basins, toilets, bathtubs, showers, and mirrors daily.
- Inspect vacant rooms daily to ensure cleanliness and freshness.
- Wash resident beds, launder and replace linens, and remake beds.
- Report any needed repairs immediately to supervisor (e.g., leaky faucets, broken tiles, window panes, bed repairs, missing nuts and screws).
- Practice safety precautions in all housekeeping activities.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Complete 12 hours of continued education courses annually.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as cleaning solutions, infection control, laundering directions, safety rules, operating procedures, policies, and manuals.
- Must be fluent in English.
