Job summary

Cantex is seeking a Housekeeping Assistant in Texas to perform scheduled housekeeping tasks as directed by the Housekeeping Supervisor. You may mop, sweep, dust, wash windows, shampoo and vacuum carpets, arrange furniture, and generally clean furniture, equipment, fixtures and hardware.

Responsibilities include cleaning patient rooms and common areas daily, using proper chemicals, reporting repairs, stocking supplies, following safety rules, and supporting Patient Care Management Systems.

Qualifications

• Experience in housekeeping or maintenance is helpful.
• Experience using floor-care equipment is helpful.
• Must read, write, and speak English.

Responsibilities

• Cleans and sanitizes patient rooms, bathrooms, and common areas daily per facility protocols.
• Uses proper chemicals, may mop, wet mop, or spot-mop floors.
• Empties trash, replaces liners, and disposes of trash in proper receptacles.
• Vacuums carpets as directed by Supervisor.
• Washes and dries windows using proper chemicals and equipment.
• Reports repairs to Supervisor or maintenance department as appropriate.
• Requests needed supplies and equipment from Supervisor.
• Identifies and corrects safety hazards and abides by safety rules.
• Familiar with Cantex Continuing Care Network Policy and Procedures for Abuse Prevention and enforces it.
• Attends weekly in-services and complies with Patient Care Management Systems.
• Responsible for assuring patient/resident safety.
• Performs other duties and tasks as assigned.

• Uses proper chemicals in proper portions. May dust mop, wet mop, or spot-mop floors.
• Empties trash containers, replaces liners as appropriate and disposes of trash in proper receptacles.
• Vacuums carpets as directed by Supervisor.
• Utilizes proper chemicals and equipment to wash and dry windows.
• Reports repair needs to Supervisor or maintenance department as appropriate.
• Requests needed supplies and equipment from Supervisor.
• Identifies and corrects safety hazards and abides by safety rules.
• Has reviewed Cantex Continuing Care Network Policy and Procedures for Abuse Prevention and knows the employees responsibility to enforce it.
• Attends weekly in-services, understands, and complies with Patient Care Management Systems.
• Responsible for assuring patient/resident safety.
• Performs other duties and tasks as assigned.
