Job summary

State of Georgia is seeking a Housekeeper 2 at East Central Regional Hospital in Augusta. Under general supervision, you will maintain order, sanitation and cleanliness in facilities, and assist with laundry and linen duties.

Minimum qualifications include 1 year in related area or higher level Housekeeper 1; preferred are knowledge of cleaning chemicals and ability to lift 10-20 lbs. Equal employment opportunity employer.

Qualifications

• Must have some basic knowledge of housekeeping, cleaning chemicals, and how to operate some equipment used in cleaning
• 2 years of job related experience, able to lift and/or move 10-20 lbs.
• One (1) year of experience in related area of assignment; or one (1) year of experience at the lower level Housekeeper 1 (FES040) or position equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Cleans and straightens assigned areas.
• Collect, sorts, launders, transports, and distributes linens and uniforms.
• Observes required safety precautions in disposing of contaminated refuse.
• Maintains and stocks equipment and supplies as needed.
• Ensures laundry, housekeeping and floor equipment is in good working condition.
• May mend linens and assist in preventative maintenance and repair.
