Job summary

Ivy Gables Senior Living is seeking a dedicated Housekeeper to maintain a clean and hygienic environment for residents in a 65+ retirement community. The role supports a welcoming atmosphere and high cleanliness standards.

The position is part-time (32 hours biweekly) from 7:00am to 3:30pm, paying $15.00 per hour. Prior experience in elder care facilities is preferred, with training on safety protocols and cleaning techniques provided.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 months to 1 year of professional cleaning experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Ability to follow detailed cleaning instructions and adhere to safety protocols.
• Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high cleanliness standards.
• Experience working in facilities for older adults or retirement communities is highly preferred.
• Knowledge of proper cleaning techniques and safe use of cleaning chemicals.

Responsibilities

• Thoroughly clean and sanitize bathrooms, including fixtures, tiles, and mirrors.
• Dust and polish furnishings, fixtures, and ledges throughout the facility.
• Clean windows and mirrors to ensure streak-free, clear surfaces.
• Maintain floor cleanliness through sweeping, mopping, and buffing as appropriate for different floor types.
• Vacuum, shampoo, and deodorize carpets according to established schedules and as needed.
• Clean walls and ceilings, including removal of cobwebs and other debris.
• Apply appropriate cleaning solutions to remove dirt, dust, and grease from various surfaces.
• Empty trash receptacles, dispose of waste properly, and replace bin liners.
• Report any accidents, incidents, or safety hazards to the supervisor promptly.
• Organize and maintain cleanliness of storage areas for cleaning supplies and equipment.
• Perform additional cleaning tasks as assigned by management.
