Job summary

Amentum in Williamsburg, VA seeks a diligent Housekeeper to perform cleaning across the facility. The role requires physical stamina, attention to detail, and the ability to lift up to 30 lbs, stand for long periods, and handle routine housekeeping tasks such as laundry, dusting, mopping, and trash removal.

The successful candidate will meet minimum requirements, maintain cleanliness standards, and coordinate with supervisors for repairs or special requests.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Must be a US citizen or naturalized.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Physically able to stand, bend, lift during shift.
• Must have US government clearance at time of application.
• Walking, kneeling, bending, and repetitive motion for cleaning.

Responsibilities

• Change linens and make beds as required.
• Dust and clean all furniture, picture frames, mirrors, windows, baseboards, carpet edges, inside and outside door panels, door ledges, and thresholds weekly.
• Pull trash from trash receptacles.
• Clear trash from tables and floors.
• Clean and vacuum under beds, desk, and behind nightstands multiple times per week or as needed.
• Clean and ensure bathtubs/showers, tub ledges, sinks, vanity shelves, toilets, tissue box covers, and soap dishes are clean.
• Sweep and mop all tile floors.
• Dust all lights, sconces, and lampshades.
• Perform laundry duties as assigned.
• Notify Supervisor of any quality control issues.
• Notify Supervisor of needed repairs which might require the assistance of the Public Works department.
• For Billeting Rooms Only: Upon guest departure, clean the inside and outside of each refrigerator and microwave.
• Ensure the time on the alarm clock and microwave is accurate.
• Ensure thermostat in each billet is set 70 degrees.
• Assist the Conferencing and Concierge staff with Housekeeping requests as required.
• Other tasks as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• US or Naturalized Citizen
• Must have valid Driver's license
• Physically able to stand, bend, lift for the duration of shift.
• Physically able to lift up to 15lbs frequently and up to 30lbs occasionally.
• Walking, kneeling, bending, and repetitive motion for cleaning surfaces and using cleaning agents.
• Must have a U.S. government issued clearance at time of application
