Job summary

S.L. Nusbaum Realty Co. in Virginia Beach, VA is seeking a full-time housekeeper for the Thalia Gardens community. You will clean apartments before new residents move in, maintain hallways, common areas, and support a safe, pleasant living environment for residents.

The position requires ability to lift up to 50 lbs, familiarity with cleaning chemicals, and basic reading of English. The role is non-exempt hourly work with benefits including paid time off, paid holidays, and health plans.

• Thoroughly cleaning apartments prior to new residents moving in, including living rooms, dining rooms, bedrooms, bathrooms, and kitchens.
• Stripping and waxing hallways.
• Cleaning laundry rooms, offices, maintenance shops, clubhouse, and all common areas.
• Cleans up trash in common areas.
• Clean windows, doors, and furnishings.

SUMMARY OF POSITION:

To ensure the residents a very clean, safe, comfortable, and attractive place to live. This position is considered an essential function to the operation of the community, therefore, consistent attendance is an essential function of this position, as it directly impacts the employee’s ability to perform their duties effectively and ensures proper workflow and communication within the team.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Thoroughly cleaning apartments prior to new residents moving in, including living rooms, dining rooms, bedrooms, bathrooms, and kitchens.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS / QUALIFICATIONS:

• High School Diploma/GED.
• Familiarity with the use of cleaning chemicals and equipment.
• Ability to read the English language.

PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES:

• Physical Activities up to and including, typing, walking, bending, stooping, reaching, climbing stairs, or sitting for periods of time.
• Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs.

GENERAL:

• Hours worked will coincide with the hours of operation in the community. This position may be required to work on weekends as necessary.
