Job summary

Legacy Nursing is seeking a housekeeping professional to perform cleaning and sanitizing for resident areas, common areas, and staff spaces. You will ensure safe chemical handling, stock supplies, and report maintenance issues to keep the facility in top condition.

The role emphasizes professional interaction with residents and families, while upholding HIPAA confidentiality. Responsibilities include daily cleaning, spill cleanup, assisting with basic equipment, and contributing to care planning

Responsibilities

• Housekeepers provide cleaning and sanitizing services for resident areas, common areas, and staff areas. The resident areas are the priority.
• Clean, sanitize, dust, mop, sweep, vacuum, and maintain resident rooms, bathrooms, dining rooms, and other facility areas.
• Ensure chemicals are used per manufacturer guidelines, properly labeled and stored.
• Lock and store cleaning tools safely after use.
• Stock paper supplies in restrooms and keep dispensers filled and working.
• Report maintenance issues as needed to supervisors.
• Clean up spills and messes as they arise, and unstop toilets when necessary.
• Contribute to resident care planning when applicable.
• Assist with batteries in remotes or plugging call lights/ beds back in.
• Act in a professional and positive manner representing the facility to the community.
• Communicate professionally with residents, families, staff, and vendors.
• Maintain confidentiality per HIPAA and related regulations.
• Attend in-service training as required.
• Clock in/out for all working hours; no off-the-clock work.

• Housekeepers provide cleaning/ sanitizing services for resident areas, common areas, and staff areas.
  Resident areas are the priority of the housekeeping staff.
• Housekeepers use proper chemicals and tools to clean, sanitize, dust, mop, sweep, vacuum, facility
  areas including but not limited to resident rooms and bathrooms, dining rooms, common areas, shower
  rooms, offices, meeting rooms, and storage areas.
• Housekeepers ensure chemicals are used according to manufacturer guidelines and are properly
  labeled and stored.
• Housekeepers ensure cleaning tools are locked and stored safely after each use.
• Housekeepers stock paper supplies in facility restrooms such as toilet paper and hand towels.
• Housekeepers keep soap and sanitizer dispensers stocked and in working order.
• Housekeepers take out trash and replace can liners.
• Housekeeping staff reports maintenance issues either in the log or if the pose an immediate danger to
  Maintenance Supervisor or the Administrator.
• Housekeepers clean up accidental spills or messes as they arise.
• Housekeepers may unstop toilets as the issue arises.
• Housekeepers may contribute to resident care planning.
• Housekeepers may assist with putting batteries in remotes or plugging call lights/ beds back in.
• Must act in ways that promote professional and positive representation of the facility to the
  community.
• Communicates in a professional and courteous manner using effective verbal and non-verbal
  communication skills with residents, their families, co-workers, and vendors.
• Maintains confidentiality of department, resident, employee information, communication, and
  documentation as well as compliance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act
  (HIPAA) regulations.
