Description

Job Title: Housekeeping

Reports To: Director of Facilities

Location: Shelter

Employment Type: Part-time

Responsibilities and Duties

• Responsible for cleaning the emergency shelter and childcare building to keep areas well organized, clean, and tidy.
• Clean floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming.
• Gather and empty trash in common areas, restrooms, break rooms, children's areas, dining rooms, and kitchen.
• Clean and supply public and resident restrooms.
• Clean main and side dining areas, including chairs, tables, serving line, countertops, and inside of refrigerators and microwaves used by survivors.
• Assist kitchen staff with deep cleaning of cooking areas at least once a month.
• Fill cleaning liquids for survivors to use regularly.
• Perform other occasional cleaning duties as assigned.

Accountability

• Quality Control: Ensure all areas are kept in a clean and orderly condition.
• Records: Maintain accurate and current records and documentation.
• Policies/Procedures: Follow safety procedures diligently.

Requirements

Educational: High School diploma or equivalent.

Certification: Requires Domestic Violence Core Competency training plus an additional 6 hours of individualized training (total 30 hours), with a passing written test.

License: Valid Florida Driver's License with active automobile insurance and a clean Motor Vehicle Report. Must have at least two years of driving experience.

Background Check: Ability to pass and maintain a Level 2 background check.

Training: OSHA training on cleaning methods, cross-contamination, spill containment.

Physical Demands

Must be able to use hands, walk frequently, climb stairs, bend, stretch, push, and pull up to 40 pounds. Visual and auditory attention required. Exposure to cleaning solvents.

Work Environment

Typically in an office setting with moderate noise. Occasional outdoor exposure when transporting individuals.

Additional Remarks

Participation in continuing education, mandatory training, and staff meetings is required.
