Job summary

Mitchell House is seeking a dedicated Housekeeper to maintain a clean and comfortable environment for residents. The role supports daily cleaning of resident rooms and common areas, laundry assistance, waste management, and inventory upkeep to ensure safety and quality of care.

You will work with a compassionate team, follow sanitation protocols, and engage residents in a friendly, respectful manner to foster a welcoming atmosphere.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience in housekeeping/janitorial preferred.
• Knowledge of cleaning products, techniques, and safety protocols.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Compassion for and a desire to work with the elderly.

Responsibilities

• Perform general cleaning duties including vacuuming, dusting, sanitizing, and mopping common areas, resident rooms, and restrooms.
• Assist with washing, folding, and distributing laundry for residents and staff as needed.
• Dispose of trash and recycling materials properly, ensuring waste areas are clean and organized.
• Assist with maintaining and restocking cleaning supplies and equipment; notify management of shortages or issues.
• Follow all safety and sanitation protocols to ensure a clean, hygienic environment for residents and staff.
• Work closely with other staff to ensure the facility is well-maintained and residents are comfortable.
• Engage with residents in a friendly and respectful manner, creating a positive and welcoming atmosphere.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
