Job summary

CHA Somerville Campus is seeking a full-time Environmental Services Worker to keep patient areas clean and safe. Evening shift 2PM–10:30PM, 40 hours per week, including weekends and holidays. Responsibilities include cleaning patient rooms, floor care, operating room terminal cleaning, carpet and upholstery care.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience: 6 months minimum; 1 year preferred.
• Must be able to read and write English and follow simple instructions.
• Newly hired candidates must complete a job-specific agility test.

Responsibilities

• Clean patient rooms using the 7 steps of cleaning method.
• Perform hard floor care and maintain floor procedures.
• Execute terminal cleaning in the Operating Room with proper techniques.
• Carpet and upholstery care using approved procedures.

Department Description

The Environmental Services department at Cambridge Health Alliance is dedicated to providing a safe, clean, and sanitized environment for all patients, staff, and visitors. Our team plays a critical role in infection prevention and control by meticulously maintaining all hospital spaces, from patient rooms to operating theaters and common areas. Through our commitment to cleanliness and rigorous sanitation standards, we help ensure the highest quality of care and promote the well-being of our entire hospital community.

Responsibilities

• Clean patient rooms using the 7 steps of cleaning method
• Perform hard floor care and utilizes approved floor care procedures.
• Uses proper technique for terminal cleaning in the Operating Room.
• Performs carpet and upholstery care, utilizing approved carpet and upholstery care standard procedures.

Qualifications

• High school/GED
