Job summary

Towers Nursing Home in Texas is seeking a dedicated housekeeper to maintain a clean, sanitary environment for residents. Under the supervision of the housekeeping supervisor, you will perform a range of cleaning tasks to keep the facility orderly and inviting.

You will sweep, mop, vacuum, buff, strip, wash and shampoo floors; dust furniture, vents and fixtures; sanitize sinks and surfaces; manage waste according to safety rules; and help restock supplies as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience as a housekeeper or janitor preferred, but not required.
• Must follow OSHA standards for handling infectious waste.

Responsibilities

• Thoroughly cleans and services building areas to maintain a sanitary and attractive condition.
• Sweep, mop, vacuum, buff, strip, wash and shampoo floors.
• Clean and dust furniture, closets, vents and surfaces.
• Empty waste receptacles and transport medical waste as directed.
• Maintain paper supplies and equipment stock as needed.
• Assist in creating a positive environment for residents.

The Housekeeper performs tasks that involve cleaning and servicing the building areas of the facility. In addition, a variety of housekeeping duties are performed in order to maintain the facility in an orderly, sanitary and attractive condition under the supervision of the housekeeping supervisor. They also assist in maintaining a positive environment for the residents.Thoroughly and consistently performs the following cleaning tasks:Sweeps, mops, vacuums, buffs, strips, washes and shampoos floor surfacesCleans and dusts furniture, closets, telephone areas and ventsScours, polishes and sanitizes sinks, counters, stainless steel surfaces and waste receptaclesEmpties waste receptacles and cleans solid waste containers and transports medical waste to outside storeroom, as directed.Uses room deodorizer as necessary.Ensures paper supplies are always available.Washes windows and walls, which may involve removing draperies and rugs, as directed.Gathers and returns needed cleaning supplies and equipment daily to support rooms, as directed.Follows OSHA Standards for handling infectious wasteEducation and Requirements:High School diploma or equivalentExperience as a housekeeper or janitor preferred, but not requiredRegency Integrated Health Services is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
