Job summary

Pavilion on Main Street is seeking a Housekeeper to join their team. The Housekeeper cleans and services an assigned portion of the facility including furniture, floors, and equipment, maintaining a clean, sanitary, safe, and attractive environment.

This is a collectively bargained position under the union and offers full-time benefits. The role requires High School diploma or equivalent, basic English proficiency, and the ability to perform physical tasks.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous institutional housekeeping experience preferred.
• Prior experience in a long-term care facility a plus.
• Able to read, write, speak, and understand English.
• Demonstrates basic computer knowledge and ability with an aptitude to learn company applications.

Responsibilities

• Follow daily work routine and clean assigned areas.
• Assure housekeeping carts and equipment are in proper repair and stocked with supplies.
• Gathers and disposes of trash and maintains proper liners.
• Vacuum, dust and mop, and sanitize floors daily.
• Empty trash bins and maintain area surrounding dumpster.
• Clean walls, ceilings, windows and fixtures; use ladder when necessary.
• Clean and polish bathrooms, sinks, tubs, mirrors, toilets, walls and floors.
• Restock paper, plastic and soap supplies as needed.
• Hang draperies or privacy curtains as necessary.
• Keep utility room and closets organized and sanitized.
• Follow established sanitation and safety standards.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Pavilion on Main Street is seeking a Housekeeper to join their team! The Housekeeper cleans and services an assigned portion of the facility including furniture, floors, and equipment. Maintains the assigned area to ensure it is clean, sanitary, safe, orderly, and attractive at all times. At this facility, this is a collectively bargained position under the union.

Housekeeper Duties and Responsibilities:

• Follows daily work routine and cleans assigned areas.

• Assures all housekeeping carts and equipment remains in proper repair and stocks housekeeping cart with all required cleaning agents and supplies.

• Gathers and disposes of trash ensuring plastic liners are in containers at all times.

• Vacuums, dust/wet mops, and sanitizes floors daily.

• Empties trash bins and maintains a clean environment surrounding the dumpster.

• Cleans walls, ceilings, windows, stairwells, hallways, metal fixtures, light fixtures, tops of windows, doorframes, and other high places using a step ladder if necessary.

• Cleans and polishes bathrooms sinks, tubs, mirrors, toilets, walls, and floors.

• Restocks paper, plastic, and soap supplies as needed.

• Hangs draperies, privacy curtains, etc. as necessary.

• Keeps utility room and housekeeping closets in order and sanitized.

• Follows established sanitation and safety standards.

• Performs other duties as assigned.

Housekeeper Skills and Abilities:

• Able to read, write, speak, and understand English.

• Demonstrates basic computer knowledge and ability with an aptitude to learn company applications.

Housekeeper Education and Experience:

• High School diploma or equivalent required.

• Previous institutional Housekeeping experience preferred.

• Prior experience working in a long-term care facility a plus.

Physical Requirements:

• Able to perform physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials.

• Walking, reaching, bending, lifting, extended sitting, grasping, fine hand coordination, pushing and pulling, ability to distinguish smells and temperatures, all with or without the aid of mechanical devices is required.

• Limited potential for exposure to environmental hazards. Understanding and adherence to company safety standards and protocols required.
