Job summary

PCH Princeton Community Hospital in Princeton, WV seeks an Environmental Services worker to maintain clean, safe patient and facility areas. You will perform cleaning tasks, restock supplies, and support hospital operations in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities include cleaning patient rooms and common areas, reporting maintenance issues, and following safety regulations. This on-site, non-exempt role offers stable hours and a team-focused environment.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in environmental services or cleaning is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and ensure areas are cleaned and in good repair; report problems to the supervisor.
• Clean all assigned areas, including patient rooms, exam rooms, public areas, toilets, procedure rooms, OR rooms, offices and equipment.
• Remove trash from all assigned areas.
• Replenish paper towels, toilet paper, and soap in all locations of assigned areas to assure adequate supply.
• Make beds in discharge rooms and on-call rooms as assigned.
• Maintain assigned equipment in clean, working condition, reporting problems and suggestions to the supervisor.
• Move equipment and furniture as assigned.
• Follow all safety and sanitation regulations.

• Removes trash from all assigned areas.

• Makes beds, following established cleaning procedures in all patient discharge rooms and on-call rooms as assigned.
• Maintains assigned equipment in clean, working condition, reporting problems and suggestions to the supervisor.
• Moves equipment, furniture, boxes, wash walls, spot carpets, etc. as assigned.
• Follows all safety and sanitation regulations.

For Facilities With Specialty Accreditation Requirements

• Completion of annual required education related to specialty accreditation as defined by accreditation standards. Training may be completed through CBLs, trainings, In-services, and competency validation.

• Must have physical ability to perform cleaning tasks such as mopping, reaching and bending and operating floor equipment such as vacuum cleaners, autoscrubbers, buffers, etc.
• Must meet Department of Labor's Heavy Duty Standard.
• Capable of wearing appropriate PPE for an extended period of time
