Job Summary

The Housekeeper is responsible for cleaning buildings, exam rooms, cafeteria, offices, classrooms, and grounds of college properties, whether owned or leased. This position is Part-Time and operates weekday evenings, unless otherwise needed.

Essential Functions

• Performs custodial duties such as cleaning windows, ceilings, overhead pipes, floors, restrooms, etc., using various cleaning equipment including brushes, brooms, dry and wet mops, vacuums, wet-vac, etc.


• Lifts and moves equipment, materials, and furniture such as desks and file cabinets within the same or different campus locations, as required.


• Performs outside campus work such as trash removal, leaf removal, snow removal, etc., as needed.


• Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED or equivalent combination of education and work experience.


• A minimum of three years' experience in general building cleaning.


• Able to lift and move equipment, materials, and furniture up to 80 lbs.


• Able to work on ladders, scaffolding, or elevated platforms.

Preferred Qualifications

• Willingness to work weekends and other shifts as necessary.


• Availability for overtime for special projects or coverage.


• Knowledge of cleaning solutions and proper use.


• Ability to follow directions and work independently.

Physical Requirements

• Standing and walking during work shifts.


• Lifting demands over 50 lbs.

Additional Information

This position is non-exempt, grade Y, with compensation ranging from $17 to $29.39 per hour. Pay aligns with the Union contract but may vary based on qualifications, experience, and internal reviews.
