Job summary

Sierra Winds is hiring Part-Time Housekeepers to maintain a clean, neat, and sanitary environment throughout the facility. In this role, you will clean and service assigned resident apartments, common areas, equipment, supplies, and linens according to established procedures.

You will follow safety rules and be prepared to work evenings, weekends, or holidays as needed. A fingerprint clearance card within 45 days of hire is required and a background check will be conducted.

According to established procedures, the Housekeeper is responsible for the cleanliness and neatness of assigned apartments and common areas. The Housekeeper cleans and services building areas, equipment, supplies and linens in and around varied departments, resident apartments, central laundry, and common areas throughout the facility. The Housekeeper performs a variety of housekeeping and laundry service duties to maintain the facility in a neat, orderly, and sanitary condition.

Requirements

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES

• Performs general housekeeping duties in apartments, hallways, and common areas such as vacuuming, cleaning bathrooms and kitchens, and dusting of all cleared flat surfaces.
• Selects cleaning materials and supplies, prepares solutions according to established procedures.
• Loads service cart and transports to assigned work area.
• Cleans assigned areas by washing furniture, tile, fixtures, equipment, etc. with approved germicidal cleaning solutions.
• Cleans assigned areas by washing walls, doors, doorframes, ceilings, air vents, televisions, windows, etc.
• Sweeps, dust mops and wet mops tiled floor areas. Vacuums carpets, upholstered furniture, and draperies. Spot cleans carpets and upholstered furnishings using the appropriate solutions. Arranges furniture and equipment in an orderly fashion after cleaning assigned areas.
• Collects waste from all areas, sanitizes all trash receptacles and keeps transporters sanitized.
• Operates various types of equipment, both mechanical and electrical (i.e., buffers, wringers, scrubbers, vacuums, laundry machines, etc.). Maintains all equipment in a clean, orderly, and proper condition.
• Requests cleaning supplies, equipment, linens, etc., as needed. Maintains linen levels. Returns unused supplies to storage area, cleans carts and equipment,and ensures all items are replaced in an orderly manner.
• Responds quickly and positively to direction from supervisor. Accomplishes all work in the order of priority set by supervisor.
• Follows written policies and procedures to comply with the federal and state laws and regulations.

ADDITIONAL DUTIES

• Collects, sorts, cleans,and distributes the community laundry as assigned.
• Attends In-service training and education sessions as assigned.
• Practices the Right-to-Know Act as it pertains to hazardous materials, chemicals, and waste.
• Practices approved infection control and isolation procedures.
• Practices all fire and disaster codes and procedures.
• Maintains a cost -conscious attitude in the performance of the daily work schedule.
• Performs specific work duties and responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor and/or Department Head.
• May be required to work additional hours as dictated by the workload and staffing. Must be willing to rotate coverage for evenings, weekends and holidays.
