Progress West Hospital in St. Charles County is seeking a Housekeeper to join our team. As a Housekeeper, you’ll provide a reassuring presence while cleaning patient rooms throughout our hospital, helping us deliver quality care and make a difference in patients’ lives.

This full-time role offers a 3:00 p.m. – 11:30 p.m. shift with rotating holidays and every-other-weekend work, performing routine janitorial tasks and discharge cleaning to prepare rooms for new admissions, and ensuring equipment

Overview

Opened in 2007, Progress West Hospital is BJC HealthCare’s newest hospital in St. Charles County, featuring modern private rooms. It offers 24-hour emergency services and has partnered with St. Louis Children’s Hospital to provide world-class pediatric emergency care.

Progress West Hospital also provides surgical services, endoscopy services, a cardiac catheterization lab, medical/surgical inpatient services, diagnostic imaging, lab services, and the Advanced Wound Center, a specialty wound treatment facility with state-of-the-art equipment. Progress West Hospital recently completed an expansion of its Childbirth Center to include enhanced services for at-risk mothers and babies, with a newborn ICU that provides care for babies born as early as 32 weeks.

Progress West Hospital is a Certified Level II Stroke Center. The hospital’s medical office building houses offices for specialists in primary care, cardiology, obstetrics, pediatrics, and orthopedics.

The housekeeping department is in charge of ensuring the hospital is appropriately cleaned to be not only visually pleasing, but more importantly prevent infections. This department, along with all departments within the hospital, supports the guiding principles of the hospital in providing care that is customized and reflects the patient's needs, values, and choices.

Role Purpose

The Housekeeper is an environmental services worker who is responsible for daily housekeeping services as assigned, using procedures as outlined by the hospital or service organization.

Responsibilities

• Performs discharge cleaning process in inpatient rooms and prepares room for next admission.
• Performs room set up and changes as needed, including changing linens, cleaning, mopping and furnishing.
