Progress West Hospital in Missouri is seeking a dedicated Housekeeper to provide daily cleaning of patient rooms, corridors, and common areas, helping maintain a safe and welcoming environment for patients and staff.

The role requires direct patient interaction, works a full-time 40-hour week from 3:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m., with rotating holidays and every-other weekend; Daily Pay is available to eligible staff.

Qualificações

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 2 years of housekeeping experience or healthcare experience.

Responsabilidades

• Performs routine janitorial and cleaning activities in patient, public and common areas using prescribed cleaning processes.
• Performs discharge cleaning in inpatient rooms and prepares rooms for next admission.
• Performs room setup and changes, including changing linens, cleaning, mopping and furniture arrangement.
• Keeps equipment clean and functional; notifies supervisor of maintenance needs.
• Assists in maintaining a clean, infection-controlled environment.

Overview

Opened in 2007, Progress West Hospital is BJC HealthCare’s newest hospital in St. Charles County, featuring modern private rooms. It offers 24-hour emergency services and has partnered with St. Louis Children’s Hospital to provide world-class pediatric emergency care.

Progress West Hospital also provides surgical services, endoscopy services, a cardiac catheterization lab, medical/surgical inpatient services, diagnostic imaging, lab services, and the Advanced Wound Center, a specialty wound treatment facility with state-of-the-art equipment. Progress West Hospital recently completed an expansion of its Childbirth Center to include enhanced services for at-risk mothers and babies, with a newborn ICU that provides care for babies born as early as 32 weeks.

Progress West Hospital is a Certified Level II Stroke Center. The hospital’s medical office building houses offices for specialists in primary care, cardiology, obstetrics, pediatrics, and orthopedics.

The housekeeping department is in charge of ensuring the hospital is appropriately cleaned to be not only visually pleasing, but more importantly prevent infections. This department, along with all departments within the hospital, supports the guiding principles of the hospital in providing care that is customized and reflects the patient's needs, values, and choices.

Role Purpose

The Housekeeper is an environmental services worker who is responsible for daily housekeeping services as assigned, using procedures as outlined by the hospital or service organization.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine janitorial and cleaning activities in patient, public and common areas using prescribed, established cleaning process.
• Performs discharge cleaning process in inpatient rooms and prepares room for next admission.
• Performs room set up and changes as needed, including changing linens, cleaning, mopping and furnishing.
• Keeps equipment clean and functional according to procedure.
• Notifies supervisor or manager of any equipment, furniture, or building fixtures that are in need of maintenance.
