Description

SUMMARY

Under the supervision of the Housekeeping Manager, performs routine housekeeping duties and minor repairs as needed.

REQUIREMENTS

• Knowledgeable about and follows infection control/universal precautions.
• Practices general safety procedures while performing housekeeping tasks.
• Appropriately uses Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
• Completes daily assignment checklist.
• Ensures proper collection, transportation, and disposal of waste within the healthcare facility.
• Participates in departmental performance improvement activities.
• Maintains patient and employee confidentiality in information management.
• Displays courtesy, tact, and patience during interactions.
• Is punctual and maintains satisfactory attendance.
• Uses equipment and supplies appropriately.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Observes healthcare system’s compliance policies.
• Meets regulatory, licensure, and health assessment requirements.
• Identifies learning strengths and needs and utilizes learning resources.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 3 years experience as a Housekeeper, preferably in healthcare.
• Experience with cleaning equipment such as extractors, floor buffers, and stripping machines.

Physical Demands

The physical demands include standing, walking, sitting, handling, climbing, balancing, talking, hearing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and lifting up to 50 pounds. Vision abilities include close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
