Summary: Responsible for demonstrating and promoting SRIM's core value of the Golden Rule, treating others (residents, families, and associates) with respect and kindness. Under direct supervision, performs a variety of housekeeping and laundry duties to maintain a clean, sanitary, and orderly environment within the community.

Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

1. Following established cleaning schedules.
2. Completing daily dusting, vacuuming, sweeping, and mopping of all common areas.
3. Performing deep cleaning of resident rooms as scheduled.
4. Cleaning administrative offices as scheduled.
5. Sanitizing bathrooms thoroughly.
6. Cleaning carpets and mopping all floors upon request.
7. Maintaining a safe, clean, and organized environment for residents.
8. Supporting a dignified, caring atmosphere for residents, families, visitors, and staff.
9. Responding promptly and courteously to requests for assistance.
10. Interacting with residents with empathy, kindness, and respect.
11. Communicating effectively in a manner understandable to residents.
12. Ensuring a safe environment, reporting hazards immediately.
13. Practicing good body mechanics and safe work habits.
14. Providing assistance to staff when needed.
15. Following policies in emergency situations and being available as essential personnel during emergencies or inclement weather.
16. Working as part of a team to accomplish tasks.
17. Maintaining a positive attitude and adhering to attendance policies.
18. Participating in training, meetings, and adhering to dress code.
19. Refraining from discussing resident issues with outsiders and following HIPAA regulations.
20. Assisting nursing staff as needed and participating in resident activities.
21. Serving and assisting residents during meals and participating in special projects.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED, or equivalent experience.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively.
• Ability to apply common sense and deal with standard situations.
• Physical ability to perform duties, including lifting up to 50 pounds, standing, walking, and other physical activities.
• Work in environments that may include exposure to bloodborne pathogens.
