Artesian Valley Health System (AVHS) is seeking a Housekeeper / Environmental Services Technician to support a clean, safe, healing environment across our facilities. This full-time role focuses on high-standard cleaning, sanitization, and responsive room turnaround to protect patient health.

Responsibilities include restocking supplies, waste disposal, adherence to infection control and safety guidelines, and professional interactions with patients, visitors, and staff.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required (preferred).
• Experience in commercial cleaning or housekeeping preferred.
• Understand and apply cleaning, sanitizing, and chemical safety principles.
• Read and follow written/verbal safety instructions and SDS sheets.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.

Housekeeper / Environmental Services Technician (Full-Time)

Make a direct impact on patient health and safety as a Housekeeper / Environmental Services (EVS) Technician at Artesian Valley Health System (AVHS). Recognized as one of the region’s premier employers, AVHS relies on our EVS team to maintain a clean, safe, and healing environment across our facilities.

Schedule & On-Call Requirements

• Status: Full-Time
• Standard Hours: Monday – Friday, 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM (this can be discussed for minor adjustments)
• On-Call: One weekday evening per week + rotating weekend coverage

Key Responsibilities

• Perform high-standard cleaning, sanitization, and floor care across patient care areas, offices, and common spaces.
• Adhere to strict infection control, safety, and health system guidelines.
• Restock supplies, handle waste disposal, and respond promptly to urgent room turnaround requests.
• Serve as a friendly, professional face to patients, visitors, and staff.

Requirements

Job Requirements

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent (preferred).
  
• Experience: Previous commercial cleaning or housekeeping experience (preferred).

  • Ability to safely read, comprehend, and follow written and verbal instructions, including safety rules, procedure manuals, and SDS sheets.

• Physical & Environmental Expectations:
  
  • Physical ability to execute heavy cleaning duties (sweeping, scrubbing, dusting, washing windows/walls, moving waste) without causing unnecessary disturbance to patients.
    
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality.
    
  • Strict compliance with healthcare facility dress code, mandatory education, and health system policies.
