Job summary

Salvation Army is seeking a dedicated Shelter Housekeeper to maintain a clean, safe living space for residents and staff. You will clean bedrooms, bathrooms, and common areas, handle laundry and linen distribution, and support daily shelter operations.

The role requires 6 months to a year of housekeeping experience, physical ability to lift heavy items, and teamwork within a shelter setting. This is a full-time, on-site position with varied shifts.

Qualifications

• Six months to one year of housekeeping experience, preferably in a shelter, residential, or institutional setting.
• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent required.
• Must be able to lift and carry heavy (over 50 lbs.) materials and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Perform a variety of housekeeping duties to ensure a clean, safe environment for residents, staff, and visitors.
• Clean bedrooms, bathrooms, and common areas; collect, wash, and distribute linens; and ensure overall neatness of the shelter daily.
• Perform laundry and linen management and support general facility upkeep and safety.
• Monitor and report maintenance needs and assist shelter operations.
