Caldwell Community College and Technical Institute is seeking a full-time custodian to perform cleaning and maintenance across campus facilities. The role includes sweeping, mopping, trash removal, safety compliance, and light landscaping, with a 36-hour work week.
Requires high school diploma or equivalent; three months of prior housekeeping or related experience. The position offers a stable environment supporting students and faculty in a clean, safe campus.
Cleans and maintains a variety of campus buildings and grounds; loads refuse trucks; and performs other custodial and maintenance duties relative to assigned area of responsibility.
$31,200.00 - $36,400.00 Annually

Qualifications and Working Conditions
The employee should have the ability to effectively handle a work environment and conditions which involve indoor environment; working with machinery; exposure to dust and dirt; periodically working in high places; may be exposed to hazardous chemicals and materials. The employee must preserve environments by maintain equipment and supplies, ensuring overall cleanliness, functionality, and conformance to OSHA standards to provide a safe work environment.
Physical and marginal functions require the ability to maintain physical condition appropriate to the performance of assigned duties and responsibilities, which may include the following; standing, walking or sitting for extended periods, lifting and carrying moderately heavy materials, general manual dexterity, operating assigned equipment, and repeated bending. The employee is required to maintain effective audio-visual discrimination and perception needed for making observations, reading and writing, operating assigned equipment, communicating with others, and handling varied tasks simultaneously. Additionally, the employee must maintain mental capacity, which permits making sound decisions and using good judgment, demonstrating intellectual capabilities, and evaluating the effectiveness of programs and personnel.
This is a full-time, position working 36 hours a week. Availability for work on any Caldwell Community College and Technical Institute site (or arranged off-campus site) is required.
Local travel between the Caldwell campus, Watauga campus, or any off-campus sites may be needed. Out of state travel is limited, but may be required for training and conferences.
Three months of prior housekeeping or related experience required.
High school diploma or equivalent required.
