Bay Bluffs-ECMCF is seeking a dedicated Housekeeper to clean and disinfect rooms and furnishings, maintaining a high standard of cleanliness and resident comfort. You will follow established policies, work with a team, and support a positive environment for residents at a hospital/long-term care facility.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED and good verbal/written communication. Training is provided; a night shift differential applies, with benefits and flexible scheduling

Responsibilities

• Adhere to Bay Bluffs' policies and procedures for cleanliness and sanitation.
• Clean and disinfect resident rooms, bathrooms, and common areas as scheduled.
• Follow daily and periodic cleaning schedules and adjust as needed by supervisor.
• Develop efficient use of time and cleaning products.
• Cooperate with supervisor to adapt cleaning plans to meet facility needs.
• Follow safety and infection control procedures at all times.
• Respond promptly to housekeeping requests from other departments.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

The Housekeeper cleans and disinfects rooms and furnishings in assigned work areas, following established policies and procedures, to maintain high standards of cleanliness and sanitation throughout the Facility, and assists in maintaining a positive physical, social and psychological environment for the residents while maintaining resident comfort.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Adhere to Bay Bluffs' Agreement of Belonging at all times.
2. Respect and honor Resident centered care.
3. Follow all cleaning procedures as detailed in the department's policy and procedures manual.
4. Follow daily and periodic cleaning schedules as prepared by supervisor, including Resident rooms, bathrooms, bathing areas, and common areas.
5. Develop skill and efficient and accurate use of time and cleaning products.
6. Cooperate with supervisor, through use of suggestions, in developing and/or adapting cleaning schedules to meet Facility's needs.
7. Follow properly all safety and infection control procedures.
8. Respond promptly to calls of other departments for housekeeping clean-ups in unforeseen situations.
9. Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

Must possess, as a minimum, a high school diploma, or equivalent (GED). Effective verbal and written communication skills are essential. Limited computer skills required.

Experience:

Housekeeping experience in a hospital, skilled nursing care facility, or other related medical facility, is not required but desirable. On-the-job training will be provided.

Physical Requirements:

1. Must be able to bend, stoop, squat, lift, push, pull and move intermittently throughout the workday.
2. Must be able to cope with the mental, physical and emotional stress of the position.
3. Must be in good health and demonstrate emotional stability.
