Job summary

Ivy Hospitality in Dayton, OH is seeking a dedicated Housekeeper to maintain the cleanliness and appearance of guest rooms and public areas, ensuring a welcoming, comfortable environment for all guests.

You will clean bedrooms and bathrooms, assist with carpet care, stock carts, and respond to guest requests while reporting maintenance issues to supervision and upholding safety and privacy standards.

Qualifications

• Education: High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience: No prior experience required; hospitality experience is a plus.
• Basic communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Stand and exert well-paced mobility for up to 8 hours.
• Lift up to 30 lbs on a regular basis.
• Bend, stoop, squat, and stretch to fulfill cleaning tasks.
• Maintain neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance per company standards.
• Flexible to work varying schedules including nights, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Clean and reset guest bedrooms and bathrooms per established standards.
• Maintain cleanliness of hallways and common areas as assigned.
• Perform other duties, such as cleaning spills or special guest requests.
• Assist other housekeeping associates in maintaining clean work areas.
• Participate in carpet care program by spotting carpet during room cleaning.
• Report maintenance issues or needs to the Supervisor.
• Stock and maintain housekeeping carts and linen storage rooms.
• Complete room assignment sheet accurately and note issues.
• Respond promptly to guest complaints or special requests.
• Follow procedures for entering guest rooms, ensuring privacy and security.
• Greet guests with a smile and offer friendly assistance.
• Adhere to safety and security policies, including handling of keys and lost and found.
• Be knowledgeable of emergency procedures and bloodborne pathogen protocols.

The Housekeeper is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and appearance of guest rooms and public areas within the hotel. The primary focus is on ensuring a welcoming, clean, and comfortable environment for all guests.

Clean and reset guest bedroom and bathroom areas according to established standard, using provided chemicals and cleaning equipment properly and safely

Maintain cleanliness of hallways and common areas as assigned.

Assist other housekeeping associates in maintaining clean and organized work and public areas.

Participate in the hotel’s carpet care program by spotting carpet during room cleaning.
