Job summary

Western Hills Retirement Village is seeking dedicated Housekeepers to keep resident spaces clean, safe, and welcoming in a caring healthcare environment.

The role includes cleaning resident rooms, bathrooms, and common areas, assisting with laundry, and following infection control and HIPAA guidelines. This full-time position offers competitive pay of $15–$19/hour and benefits such as health and life insurance, PTO, a 401(k) with company match, and tuition reimbursement.

Qualifications

• 10th grade education minimum.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Healthcare housekeeping experience preferred.
• Able to follow written and verbal instructions; work independently or in a team.
• Detail-oriented and committed to cleanliness and sanitation.
• Calm and professional in a fast-paced environment.
• Good communication with residents, families, and staff.
• Physically able to stand, walk, bend, lift 50+ lbs, and perform repetitive tasks.
• Able to read, write, and speak English.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a clean, sanitary, and safe environment for residents, staff, and visitors.
• Clean and disinfect resident rooms, bathrooms, and common areas including hallways, dining rooms, and recreational spaces.
• Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, and perform carpet cleaning as needed.
• Clean and sanitize surfaces such as furniture, countertops, sinks, toilets, and showers.
• Clean walls, windows, mirrors, vents, elevators, and stairways as needed.
• Dispose of trash and hazardous waste in accordance with facility policies.
• Restock housekeeping and sanitation supplies throughout the facility.
• Assist with laundry services, including washing, drying, folding, and restocking linens and clothing.
• Report maintenance needs or safety concerns to leadership.
• Support residents during mealtimes by assisting with trays and observing/reporting concerns.
• Follow all infection control, safety, and HIPAA guidelines.
• Maintain a calm, respectful, and caring environment for residents and team members.
• Participate in required trainings, in-services, and team meetings

What We're Looking For:

• Minimum of 10th grade education required
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Previous housekeeping experience preferred, especially in a healthcare setting
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and work both independently and as part of a team
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness and sanitation
• Ability to remain calm and professional in a fast-paced environment
• Good communication skills and ability to interact positively with residents, families, and staff
• Physically able to stand, walk, bend, lift (50+ lbs), and perform repetitive tasks throughout the shift
• Ability to read, write, and speak English
