Job summary

Mercy Medical Center is seeking a 2nd shift Environmental Services Technician to disinfect and sanitize patient care areas across the hospital. Primary duties include cleaning, waste removal, bed making, and stocking supplies in a safe, infection-controlled environment.

The role requires fluency in English, basic math, and computer literacy; prior housekeeping experience is preferred. Work includes lifting up to 50 lbs and collaborating with the EVS team to maintain high cleanliness standards.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Disinfects/sanitizes assigned areas using proper equipment.
• Removes waste, linen, recycling, some equipment, and sharps containers.
• Cleans assigned area(s) following the daily duty sheet.
• Vacuums assigned area(s) and maintains equipment properly and safely.
• Reports needed repairs or safety related items to management.
• Cross trains in multiple areas as assigned.
• Operates Vocera communication professionally.
• Adapts to cleaning blood, body fluids and waste.
• Follows safety guidelines and infection control policies.
