Job summary

IMG Academy in Bradenton, FL, is seeking a dedicated full-time Housekeeper to maintain high standards of cleanliness across its boarding school and sports campus.

You will perform advanced cleaning, laundry services, organize supplies, and follow safety procedures. The role requires attention to detail, ability to work independently, and flexible scheduling including weekends.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; training in housekeeping or custodial services is a plus.
• Proven customer service orientation and ability to interact professionally with guests, students, and staff.
• Attention to detail and commitment to high cleanliness and presentation standards.
• Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and perform duties with minimal supervision.
• Experience in institutional, campus, hotel, or healthcare environments preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform advanced cleaning and sanitation tasks such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, polishing, vacuuming and disinfecting.
• Learn, operate and maintain floor machines, vacuums, scrubbers, buffers, extractors and other equipment.
• Provide laundry services for dormitories and commercial facilities: washing, drying, folding, sorting, distributing linens.
• Monitor, restock and maintain cleaning supplies and equipment; report shortages or malfunctions.
• Collect and remove trash and bulk materials; work with team to handle heavy items safely.
• Maintain cleaning logs and inspection reports per departmental standards.
• Organize housekeeping carts and storage areas for efficiency and safety.
• Follow safety procedures and handle chemicals properly per OSHA and company standards.
• Identify and report maintenance issues or safety hazards and assist in resolution.
• Conduct routine inspections to ensure cleanliness, safety and quality standards.
• Respond to cleaning requests from guests, students or staff professionally.
• Train and mentor less-experienced staff on techniques, equipment, and safety.
• Collaborate with department leadership to support efficient campus operations.

Position Summary :

Housekeepers are responsible for maintain ing high standards of cleanliness at a boarding school and sports training destination located on a 400-acre campus.

Key Responsibilities :

Perform advanced cleaning and sanitation tasks, including sweeping, mopping, dusting, polishing, vacuuming, disinfecting, and other duties to maintain a clean and safe environment .

Learn, operate , and maintain floor machines, vacuums, scrubbers, buffers, extractors, and other specialized cleaning equipment safely and efficiently .

Complete routine and repetitive housekeeping duties with attention to detail and consistency across all assigned areas .

Provide laundry services for dormitories and commercial facilities, including washing, drying, folding, sorting, and distributing linens and personal items

Monitor, restock, and maintain cleaning supplies, chemicals, and equipment, reporting shortages or malfunctions promptly .

Collect and remove trash and bulk materials, working with team members or equipment for items that exceed safe lifting guidelines .

Maintain accurate cleaning logs, inspection reports, and other documentation in compliance with departmental standards .

Organize and maintain housekeeping carts, storage areas, laundry rooms, and equipment for efficiency and safety .

Follow all safety procedures, including proper handling, labeling, and use of chemicals, ensuring adherence to OSHA and company standards .

Identify and report maintenance issues, safety hazards, or equipment repairs, assisting as needed to resolve them promptly .

Conduct routine inspections of assigned areas to ensure cleanliness, safety, and compliance with quality standards .

Respond professionally to guests, students, or staff cleaning requests and special needs

Train, mentor, and support less-experienced staff on cleaning techniques, equipment operation, and safety practices.

Collaborate effectively with all department leadership and internal departments to support efficient operations and continuously enhance the overall campus experience.

Other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications :

High school diploma or equivalent ; additional training or certifications in housekeeping, custodial services, laundry operations, or facilities management is a plus

Proven customer service orientation, with ability to interact professionally and courteously with guests, students, and staff

Demonstrated attention to detail and commitment to high cleanliness and presentation standards

Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks effectively, and perform duties with minimal supervision.

Working knowledge of cleaning methods, equipment, chemicals, and best practices; experience in institutional, campus, hotel, or healthcare environments preferred.

Physical Demands & Work Environment :

Ability to safely lift, carry, push, and pull equipment, supplies, or materials weighing up to 50 pounds .

Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, squat, kneel, reach, stretch, and perform repetitive movements for extended periods

Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying temperatures and weather conditions .

Ability to work on multiple surfaces, including stairs, hard floors, turf, grass, courts, and walkways

Manual dexterity required to safely operate housekeeping, custodial, and laundry equipment

Frequent movement across campus, including stairs and elevators

Ability to use standard office and mobile technology for reporting and documentation

Ability to work flexible schedules, including day, evening, overnight, weekends, and holidays as needed
