Job summary

Azalea Commons of Batesville in Batesville, MS is seeking a full-time Housekeeping staff member to maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment across residents' rooms, public areas, offices, and common spaces. The role includes daily cleaning, carpet and floor care, laundry, and assisting with dining room setup.

No prior experience is required; on-the-job training is provided, and applicants must communicate in English.

Responsibilities

• Performs day-to-day housekeeping per procedures and as assigned by supervision.
• Follows established safety precautions when performing tasks and when using equipment and supplies.
• Reports all hazardous equipment or conditions to management.
• Cleans floors by sweeping, dusting, mopping, stripping, waxing, buffing and disinfecting.
• Cleans carpets by vacuuming, shampooing, deodorizing and disinfecting.
• Cleans and polishes furnishings in hallways, stairways and elevators.
• Cleans resident rooms (vacuum, mop, dust, disinfect and sanitize bathrooms, mirrors).
• Daily collect all trash from rooms, offices, lounges and bathrooms.
• Cleans walls, windows and baseboards; keeps windows, cabinets, doors and mirrors smudge-free and clean.
• Assists setting up dining room, activity and living rooms as necessary.
• Reports repairs to maintenance, fills work orders.
• Keeps housekeeping equipment and storage areas clean and uncluttered.
• Responds to resident needs as they ask you to.
• Laundering of facility linens as needed.
• Keeps supervisor informed of all supply needs.
• Reports all accidents/incidents to supervisor.
• Ensures cleaning schedules are followed.
• Turn in all articles found to supervisor.
• Maintains confidentiality of resident information and honors property rights.
• Performs other duties assigned by administrative staff.

Summary of Responsibility:
This is a full time position, Monday through Friday and some weekends. The primary purpose of the housekeeping staff is to maintain a clean, safe and comfortable environment in all areas of the community including but not limited to residents’ rooms, public restrooms, offices and common areas.

Duties:

1. Performs the day-to-day housekeeping functions in accordance with established housekeeping procedures and as assigned by supervision.
2. Follows established safety precautions when performing tasks and when using equipment and supplies.
3. Reports all hazardous equipment or conditions to management.
4. Cleans floors, to include sweeping, dusting, damp/wet mopping, stripping, waxing, buffing and disinfecting.
5. Cleans carpets, to include vacuuming, shampooing, deodorizing, and disinfecting.
6. Cleans and polishes any furnishings in the hallways, stairways and elevators.
7. Cleans resident rooms (includes vacuum carpet, mop, dust, disinfect and sanitize bathrooms, washing mirrors and pictures).
8. Daily collect all trash from rooms, offices, lounges and bathrooms.
9. Cleans walls, windows and baseboards by washing, wiping, dusting, spot cleaning, disinfecting, deodorizing, etc. Keep all windows, cabinets, doors, mirrors, smudge free and clean.
10. Assists setting up dining room, activity and living rooms as necessary.
11. Reports any needed repairs to maintenance superintendent; fill out work order form and put in maintenance box.
12. .Keeps all housekeeping equipment, storage areas, janitor closets and housekeeping cart clean and uncluttered.
13. Responds to resident needs as they ask you to.
14. Laundering of facility linens as much as needed.
15. Keeps the supervisor informed of all supply needs.
16. Reports all accidents/incidents to the supervisor no matter how minor they may be.
17. Ensures that cleaning schedules are followed as closely as practical.
18. Turn in all articles found to the supervisor.
19. Maintains the confidentiality of resident information and honor the residents’ personal property rights.
20. Performs any other duties assigned to you by the administrative staff.
