Job summary

Trine University seeks full-time housekeepers for 1st and 3rd shifts to clean and maintain university buildings and assist with setting up summer camps on campus.

Responsibilities include floor care, windows, restrooms, furniture cleaning, waste removal, light fixtures, and event setup; equipment operation and mobility with heavy items as needed. HS diploma or GED required; valid driver's license preferred.

• Must be able to perform duties that require lifting and moving items.

Responsibilities

• Sweep, mop, strip and wax floors.
• Clean windows, sills and restrooms; sanitize fixtures.

• Set up tables and chairs for events; stock cleaning supplies.
• Operate industrial cleaning equipment as needed and follow safety rules.

Trine University is seeking full-time 1st and 3rd shift housekeepers who will be responsiblefor cleaning and maintaining University buildings and assisting with the setting upofsummer camps held on the Trine University campus.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Include, but are not limited to:

• Sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, striping and waxing of floors
• Washing windows and window sills
• Select, measure and mix products for cleaning jobs
• Clean, sanitize and polish restrooms and their fixtures
• Clean and polish classroom and office furniture
• Remove waste and debris
• Replace light bulbs and clean fixtures
• Set up tables and chairs for special events
• Stock closets with cleaning and paper products
• Sweep and shovel walkways 10' from all entrances.

Education and/or Experience

A High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED) is required.

Job Requirements

Willingness to perform duties associated with commercial cleaning, including operatingindustrial-type cleaning equipment such as high-speed buffers, scrubbers, and carpetcleaners; cleaning restrooms; moving heavy items such as tables and chairs and caringfor all responsible equipment. To perform this job successfully, an individual mustbe able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
