About Our Family

We are a family of four in the process of planting roots in Mountain Brook, Alabama after relocating from South Carolina. Life in our home is full, energetic, and intentional. We have two kids, a playful medium-sized golden-doodle, and a household that runs at a pace that reflects two parents who are deeply invested in their careers and equally invested in their family.

The work-from-home arrangement is a gift in many ways, but it also means that without real, reliable support, the household tasks that keep a home running smoothly can quietly pile up. Laundry stacks. The pantry runs low. Meal planning falls to takeout again. The household systems start to drift.

We are a family who genuinely loves being at home and creating a warm, welcoming space. We love to cook (when there is time), we love hosting, and we love having a home that feels organized and calm even when life is busy. We host approximately once a month, ranging from casual tailgate-themed gatherings to dinner parties connected to professional commitments. We want our home to feel ready, not rushed.

Our youngest attends school two days a week, which means three mornings at home that we want to protect, both for one parent to focus on work and for our little one to be engaged, cared for, and genuinely enjoyed during that time. We are not looking for a babysitter. We are looking for someone who understands that caring for a child with warmth and intention is the job, and who brings that same energy to everything else they do in our home.

We are a family who values honesty above almost everything else. We would rather hear the truth than be managed around it. We are building a support system with one person at the center of it, someone we can trust, someone who becomes a genuine part of the way our household runs.

Who You Are / What We're Looking For

You are the kind of person who walks into a space, reads the room, and gets to work. You do not wait to be told what needs doing. You notice the laundry that has been sitting in the dryer, the produce that needs to be used before the grocery order arrives, the drop zone by the front door that has quietly become a catch-all again. You take care of it, and then you let us know it is handled.

You genuinely love being around children. Not in a surface-level way, but in the way that means you show up to a Monday morning with ideas, with energy, and with the kind of patience that makes a young child feel safe and seen. You know how to be present during those two hours of morning care, whether that means heading to the park, setting up an art project, or splashing in the pool. You are a strong swimmer and you take that responsibility seriously.

You are an exceptional communicator. You do not overload us with questions, but you also do not disappear and leave us wondering. You send a quick message when the pantry is running low, flag a package that arrived damaged, and check in at the end of the week with what got done and what is coming up. You make the invisible work of running a household visible in the best possible way.

You are organized and systems-minded. Professional organizers will set up household systems during our move-in, and your job is to maintain them, protect them, and gently restore them when life inevitably disrupts them. You do not need to build the systems from scratch, but you do need to care about keeping them intact.

You are proactive about errands, household restocking, and the small logistical details that add up to a home that functions well. You are comfortable managing household orders through Instacart, Amazon, Costco, and Target, and you are the kind of person who notices we are almost out of something before we run out. You handle dry cleaning, returns, mail, and packages without it feeling like a burden.

You are warm, honest, discreet, and reliable. You understand that being invited into a family's home is a privilege, and you treat it with care. You are comfortable working independently, communicating professionally with vendors and contractors, and occasionally coordinating with an executive assistant on event-related logistics. You take pride in your work, even when no one is watching.

If this sounds like you, we would love to meet you.

  • Track receipts for household purchases

  • Event and appointment coordination, including monthly dinner parties and tailgate-style gatherings; help source and coordinate event staff when needed
