Job summary

Salt Lake Behavioral Health is a private 118-bed psychiatric hospital seeking House Supervisors for Day and Night shifts to provide leadership on inpatient units.

The role functions as the senior nursing authority, overseeing staffing, patient flow, standards, regulatory compliance, and emergency response. RN licensure and 3–5 years of supervising experience are required, with a Bachelor’s degree preferred. This position may require evening/night/weekend coverage and occasional RN floor shifts.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing required.
• 3–5 years supervising experience.
• Licensed to practice by the Utah State Board of Nursing; CPR certification and handling with care training within 90 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical and operational leadership across inpatient behavioral health units to ensure safe, effective, and coordinated patient care.
• Act as the senior nursing authority during assigned shifts, overseeing staffing, patient flow, clinical standards, regulatory compliance, and emergency response.
• Serve as a clinical resource to nursing staff and support treatment planning and milieu management.
• Act as the facility representative during evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays; may cover RN floor shifts as needed.

House Supervisor may also be required to work RN floor shifts as needed.

Qualifications

Education: Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing required; Bachelor's Degree preferred.

Experience: 3 -5 years supervising experience.

Licensure: Currently licensed to practice by the Utah State Board of Nursing.

Additional Requirements: Thorough knowledge of Joint Commission, HCFA, OSHA requirements, and state and federal regulatory requirements. CPR certification and successful completion of training in Handle With Care within 90 days of employment, and prior to assisting in restraining procedures.
