Job summary

Salt Lake Behavioral Health is seeking a compassionate Mental/Behavioral Health Technician to join our night shift team in Salt Lake City. You will work under the RN, provide direct patient care, supervision, and therapeutic support within a structured setting to support treatment goals.

The role requires a High School Diploma or equivalent; CNA preferred; valid driver license; CPR and Handle With Care training; one year of related experience preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Degree or equivalent required.
• Certified Nursing Assistant preferred; Degree from an accredited college or university in social work, recreational therapy or appropriate therapeutic discipline preferred.

Responsibilities

• Direct patient care, supervision, and therapeutic support as part of the interdisciplinary treatment team.
• Work under the direction of the Registered Nurse to maintain a safe, structured, and therapeutic environment.
• Support patient engagement, daily functioning, and treatment plan goals.

Shift: Nights 6pm-6am

Pay: $18.00 - $24.00 per hour dependent on education and experience.

Shift Differential: $3.00 - $4.00 on top of hourly rate for nights and weekends

Qualifications

Experience: One year of related experience, with knowledge of psychiatric patient care techniques with understanding of mental illness, preferred, NOT required.

Licensure: Must maintain a valid driver's license in the applicable state if transporting patients. Must attend in house CPR and Handle With Care certification.

Additional Requirements: May be required to work overtime and flexible hours.
