Job summary

Sherman Oaks Hospital in Sherman Oaks, California seeks a Registered Nurse to serve as House Supervisor on the Night shift. This per diem position oversees departmental services, ensures smooth patient flow, and supports on-call procedures as needed.

The candidate must hold an active RN license with BLS and ACLS, plus prior supervisory and acute care experience. BSN is preferred and eligibility for hospital policy alignment is required.

Qualifications

• Current and valid license as a Registered Nurse.
• BLS certification upon hire and maintain current.
• ACLS certification within 30 days of hire and maintain current.
• One year prior experience as a Supervisor preferred.
• Minimum of three (3) years acute care nursing experience.
• BSN preferred.

Responsibilities

• The House Supervisor is a Registered Nurse who assumes administrative responsibility for the management of all department service functions on his/her shift.
• Directly supervises, provides support to and communicates with all staff house-wide.
• Ensures efficient operations and patient flow throughout the hospital.
• Assists medical staff with scheduling after hour procedures and standby staff.
• Enhances the patient/family experience through supportive interactions and explanations of hospital policies as needed.

Responsibilities

The House Supervisor is a Registered Nurse who assumes administrative responsibility for the management of all department service functions on his/her shift. Makes frequent rounds throughout facility to monitor the delivery of care, oversee the quality of services and direct patient care activities as needed. Directly supervises, provides support to and communicates with all staff house-wide. In the absence of the Hospital Administrative staff, the administrative scope and responsibility is extended to all services within the hospital. Ensures efficient operations and patient flow throughout the hospital. Performs direct patient care, only as needed, within the scope of practice and competence. Ensures all temporary agency personnel are deployed and oriented in compliance with hospital policy. Assist medical staff with scheduling after hour procedures and calling in stand-by call staff members. Enhances the patient/family experience through supportive interactions and explanations of hospital policies as needed.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

• Current and valid license as a Registered Nurse.
• Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.
• ACLS certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
• One (1) year prior experience as a Supervisor preferred.
• Minimum of three (3) years acute care nursing experience
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.

Pay Transparency

Sherman Oaks Hospital offers competitive compensation and a reasonable compensation estimate for this role is $55.03 to $55.03. The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire, in which a wide range of factors will be considered, including but not limited to, skillset, years of applicable experience, education, credentials and licensure.
