Job summary

Encino Hospital Medical Center is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to serve as House Supervisor on a per diem basis. The role involves administrative oversight of department functions, rounds to ensure quality patient care, and supervision of all staff across the hospital while maintaining efficient operations and patient flow.

The position requires an active RN license, BLS and ACLS certificates, with a preference for candidates who have prior supervisor experience and at least three

Qualifications

• Current and valid license as a Registered Nurse.
• Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.
• ACLS certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
• One (1) year prior experience as a Supervisor preferred.
• Minimum of three (3) years acute care nursing experience
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assumes administrative responsibility for the management of all department service functions on shift.
• Makes rounds to monitor delivery of care, oversee service quality and direct patient care activities.
• Directly supervises, supports and communicates with staff house-wide.
• Extends administrative scope and responsibility to all hospital services in the absence of Hospital Administrative staff.
• Ensures efficient operations and patient flow throughout the hospital.
• Performs direct patient care within scope of practice when needed.
• Ensures temporary agency personnel are deployed and oriented per hospital policy.
• Assists medical staff with scheduling after hour procedures and standby staff.

Education

RN license (Current and valid)

BLS certification

Supervisor experience (1 year preferred)

Acute care nursing experience (3+ years)

Responsibilities

The House Supervisor is a Registered Nurse who assumes administrative responsibility for the management of all department service functions on his/her shift. Makes frequent rounds throughout facility to monitor the delivery of care, oversee the quality of services and direct patient care activities as needed. Directly supervises, provides support to and communicates with all staff house-wide. In the absence of the Hospital Administrative staff, the administrative scope and responsibility is extended to all services within the hospital. Ensures efficient operations and patient flow throughout the hospital. Performs direct patient care, only as needed, within the scope of practice and competence. Ensures all temporary agency personnel are deployed and oriented in compliance with hospital policy. Assist medical staff with scheduling after hour procedures and calling in stand-by call staff members. Enhances the patient/family experience through supportive interactions and explanations of hospital policies as needed.

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

• Current and valid license as a Registered Nurse.
• Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.
• ACLS certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
• One (1) year prior experience as a Supervisor preferred.
• Minimum of three (3) years acute care nursing experience
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
